Jack and Emory love mud and have created a mud pit in our backyard. Jack asks every morning if it rained the night before because that means his mud pit will be in top form. There's not much else to say about that except that we do a lot of laundry.

Cousin Harper
The boys had a visit from cousin Cousin Harper this weekend. Aunt Miller took some great pics. Harper got introduced to the joys of playing with trains and mud while at our house. She seemed to like the trains more so than the mud but was an equally good sport about both.

Amy O
One of my oldest and closest friends passed away from a short but fierce battle with cancer. Over the weekend, David, Emory and I went to the Washington, DC area to attend a celebration of her life. It was a beautiful day filled with a lot of crying and laughing, both things that Amy did a lot of. It's hard to even find words to express how much pride I have in her--in the things she did professionally and personally as well as in how she handled the last, very difficult months of her life. Here is a link to an article in the Washington Post that talks a little bit about Amy and all of her accomplishments. The world is a better place because of Amy and I am definitely a better person because of her friendship.

Rachel
David's great aunt Rachel passed away last week and we traveled down to Memphis for her funeral. Her presence in the family will be sorely missed. The kids all loved her and she really loved being with them as well. Here are some of our favorite pictures of "Ray Ray" from the past few years.
